Animal Adoption Stickers

Fast Facts
Background
This project was a learning opportunity where I created sticker designs while familiarizing myself with Adobe software.
Project Results
The final stickers are ready for use in promoting humane animal shelters, helping to raise awareness of supporting animal shelters.
Lessons learned
As a digital art and design student, that challenge here for me was to learn about a software and use my knowledge to create appealing designs promoting an important message.
The Challenge
Design Process
1. Ideation. I started by sketching out ideas for potential designs. I explored ideas featuring cats and dogs, as those are the animals found within the shelter I volunteered at.
I also came up with the slogan "No stray turned away". Short, memorable, and informative, it would accompany all my designs to help clarify their concept.
This idea featured animals that were happily living their best lives after being adopted.
This idea focused on bringing animals to proper homes
During the fall of 2024, I was learning to use Adobe Illustrator in my program at Assiniboine College. The task I was presented with was to create 2 designs suitable for something like a badge or sticker, with a clear theme that connects both designs.
I had been volunteering at my local animal shelter for a few years at that point, so I had the idea of creating designs promoting adopting pets from no-kill animal shelters.

Case Study

This idea emphasized the love animals deserve, combining their faces with half a heart.

2. Refinement. I showed my sketches to my peers for feedback, and the most popular design was the one featuring an animal's face combined with half a heart. Some feedback I got was the the text could be moved to make it more noticeable.
I created some refined sketches of this design.

3. Digitization. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created digital versions of the designs.

4. Printing. I printed at cut my stickers using my college's large-format printing and cutting machines.
